Debit Card Update
GEFCU has been working with our debit card processor to develop a
solution to both protect our members’ accounts from fraudulent activity
and still allow convenient access for our members when traveling
over-seas. GEFCU is pleased to announce two major enhancements in this
area. While all signature based transactions conducted in a foreign
country will be blocked, all PIN based transactions, such as
withdrawals at ATMs will still be able to be processed normally. This
will allow our members to have access to their funds, while providing
the peace of mind of knowing that GEFCU is protecting your accounts from
the wide-spread abuse of signature based transactions occurring world
wide.
If you
are going to be traveling to a foreign country please notify the credit
union in advance so that we can un-block the foreign transactions for
the duration of your stay. |
